Every year the Grandview Rotary Swim Team participates in the Toppenish Regionals. This year’s events will be held on July 13-14th from 7:20am till approximately 4pm. This is a separate event from our regular swim schedule and requires a separate sign up and fees. It is a fun experience for the kids to earn extra awards while getting to socialize as a team. There are T-Shirt vendors, food vendors, and all of the teams from our league and a few others. We encourage as many swimmers to participate as possible.

Each swimmer is limited to 3 events per day. If we have enough swimmers, we will sign up for both medley and free relays. Each events costs $3.50 and there is a $7.00 sign-up fee per swimmer. The team covers the cost of relay events. Relay events are held as the first event so if you are not interested in swimming in a relay, please let us know when we are signing you up.

The pool in Toppenish is 50 meters. This means it is bigger than our own pool.Some of the events are 100 meters (2 laps). We encourage swimmers to sign up for the longer events because it increases their chances of getting a medal. Because sign-ups are swimmer driven, not as many younger swimmers will sign up for longer distances, therefore it is a good opportunity to earn a ribbon or a medal. Awards are given to the first 16 places in each actual age as of your actual age as of July 9th (i.e. 9 year olds get 16 places and 10 year olds get 16 places).

The list of events is will follow. Registrations can be dropped off at practice this week. Registrations can also be emailed back to [email protected] by noon on Monday the 1st. Payments for this event should be dropped off with Autumn VanTress.

Sign up sheets will be handed out at the Othello meet and at practices for the rest of the week. Sign ups are due by July 1st.
